Nichols Point Primary: Helping kids dream, achieve and succeed!
The Point is absolutely unique and we pride ourselves on being unique – a point of difference. We do this by always referring to our motto (Helping kids dream, achieve and succeed) and by ensuring every decision made is on the assumption “Kids First.”
I love to see happy kids wanting to come to school (high fiving us all) and being an active part of a vibrant school community.
I love to see kids engaging with the most up to date technology options and take cyber safety seriously.
I love to see kids, parents and staff having online conversations about learning progress and up to date current goals.
I love to see kids interacting in our inclusive playground.
I love to see peer tutoring and our two year buddy program – Kids teaching kids.
I love to see kids up in the vegie patch and harvesting produce to give away to the needy.
I love to see kids singing, dancing, playing guitar and drums and performing at every opportunity.
I love to see kids achieving in their chosen sports and just participating because they can.
I love to see kids experimenting with their passions and working towards making their dreams come true.
I love to see kids vigorously learning through experimenting, making mistakes and practicing.
I love to see our parents in the mornings helping with reading and maths and then finishing off with a coffee and a chat over near our little outside café.
I love to see our parents being engaged and having a laugh at Parents Association, coming up with new ideas, helping to fund them and providing kids with wonderful opportunities.
I love to think that positive relationships are very important to us and integral in our daily work.
I love to see kids and staff purchasing healthy, fresh food from our canteen.
I love to see kids making the library their own and enjoying all that it has to offer.
I love knowing that kids can play sport indoors if needed in our fantastic full sized gym and keep active in our fitness gym.
I love it that our kids have a well maintained school environment that is just approaching ten years old.
I love that the kids are grouped in Maths and English in learning groups that are just right for them.
I love that the kids have the chance to build relationships with a lot of adults and students as they move every hour according to the timetable.
I love that we engage in whole school programs for English and Maths learning – Daily 5 and Literacy Café, Soundwaves, Big Write and VCOP, nelson maths, sumdog, literacy planet, reading eggs, to name a few.
I love that our kids are working towards being resilient kids through a targeted whole school approach.
