A Welcome Message From Our Principal, Fiona Turlan.

On behalf of the NPPS Leadership team, I would like to warmly welcome you to Nichols Point Primary School in 2024.

Here at Nichols Point Primary School, we have proudly created a culture of 'kid's first'. Our kids are at the forefront of our decision making, our planning and our outcomes. Student learning is delivered in a nurturing environment that targets each individual child and their needs, and we focus heavily on the social and emotional health of students. We know that if kids are socially happy and emotionally supported, their learning will flourish. It's important to note that a key aspect of focus for us here at The Point is the positive and honest relationships we have with our families. Our doors are always open and parents and carers are welcome to come in and chat anytime, happy kids mean happy families.

We strive to provide our kids with an environment that is engaging, safe and inclusive with excellent facilties both in our classrooms and in the playground. Our classrooms are welcoming and comfortable spaces to learn, with modern technology and faciltiies for students and teachers. Our yard is host to some fantastic play equipment and sporting facilities, quiet areas, veggie patches, a chicken coop and lots of shady seating for our students to enjoy. Our students also love spending time in our school library, gymnasium and performing arts room, and for our keen scientists, the science and IT media hub is a must.

In some exciting news for 2024, we are working on a new feature in our yard to enhance play for our little Pointers - the NPPS Tiny Town! Our Tiny Town is a passion project being rolled out by a small group of staff who identified the need for further play facilities in the yard for younger students, focussing on imaginative play and enhancing the beginning of social connetiveness. Whilst we are in the early stages of this project, our overall vision is to create a little town for little people and we can't wait for our kids to enjoy this one!

We know that as our students grow, so do their needs. Opportunities to participate in the sporting arena, leadership groups and camps present from Grade 3 onwards, last year our students achieved great sporting success both locally and at state level. We are so proud of our Camp Program here at The Point and we understand how important it is that children are given the opportunity to participate in school camps. The memories made on camp last a lifetime and are often regarded as the highlight of their primary school days.

To really experience what The Point is all about, you need to visit our school and see for yourself! If you are considering Nichols Point Primary School as your education provider, now or in the future, I welcome you to tour our school and see all of the wonderful things we have to offer. Please contact our office to inquire or arrange a private tour, it will be our pleasure to showcase our school to you.

We look forward to seeing you at The Point soon.

Kind Regards,
Fiona Turlan
