Every parent wants to leave a school tour feeling like "you have found the right one".

Thank you for considering Nichols Point Primary for your child and family as you begin the wonderful journey of primary education.

Here at The Point, we understand that starting school is an exciting and important time for families. Understandably, there are many questions and often unknown aspects to consider when choosing a school. To help you in this process, NPPS offers guided Principal tours where our Principal or Leadership Team will escort you on a private tour of our school, covering topics that span from Prep to Grade 6. Tours take approximately 30 minutes and we encourage children to come along to meet our staff and explore our vibrant school.

How to enrol at Nichols Point Primary School:

Contact our school on 50231633 to register your interest and book a school tour or
Download the Student Enrolment Application Form, complete and email to our school.
Enrolment offers will be extended to zoned families, and where capacity permits, to unzoned families. Enrolment packs will be distributed by the school office.
Complete and return the enrolment pack along with your child's birth certificate or passport, immunisation record, legal orders and any health information including medical plans (allergy, asthma, anaphylaxis etc).
New Preps Take part in enrolment transition and orientation sessions in term 4, students in other years may wish to arrange a transition visit to our school prior to commencement date.

Our School Zone

All children have the right to attend their designated neighbourhood school, families can also choose to seek enrolment at another government school.

Nichols Point Primary School generally has the capacity to take enrolments from families outside of their designated zone according to the DET Placement Policy.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which provides the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Transition to Primary School:
We are thrilled to offer our enrolled preps an extensive and nurturing orientation program that will commence in term 4.
Our orientation program consists of two components - Pointers Prep and Orientation.

Pointers Prep - NPPS supports the transition of children from early years learning (kindergarten) to Primary School learning by offering additional Pointers Prep visits to our school. These visits are conducted in small groups for shorter periods of time, giving children the opportunity to; become familiar with our school setting, develop strong relationships with teachers and feel supported as they undertake longer orientation sessions.

Orientation: We offer 3 Prep Orientation sessions to our families, building on the foundations from our Pointers Prep visits. Orientation sessions allow our preps to spend more time in the school classroom and playground setting with their peers and teachers. We focus on building positive relationships and experiences during these sessions which supports children at the beginning of their school year.

Two Year Buddy Program - At NPPS, we implement a unique 2 year Buddy program. Year 5 students and Preps will be buddied up and begin their two year buddy journey together during the orientation process. Our Gr 5 buddies will then support and engage with their prep buddy for the next two years, building friendships and working with one another in structured activities, in the yard or at school sporting activities. We are proud of our buddy program and the positive social and emotional influences experienced by our students.
